Easy air
Airport services that make customers convenient.
Overview
Easy air helps users to spend their time at the airport more efficiently. It provides various services such as maps, flight information and reservations. With Easy Air, users can go to their destination that they want without having to memorize information, and make advance reservation ease. Additionally, all of the information can be viewed through a mobile device.

Why I started this project
Problem
How to use the time efficiently before boarding?
Today's airports are getting bigger with more passengers and offering a wide range of services and facilities. Despite this, it is not uncommon for passengers to board their planes without taking full advantage of many facilities available to them.
Solution
- By scanning ticket informaion, each user sees only the information they need.
- Through the service of finding various facilities or making a reservation in advance, user can use airport conveniently.
- Informaiton can be moved to mobile by scanning the QR code. Information - anytime, anywhere.
Transfer information
See the saved information anywhere on your mobile
Information you see shortly at the kiosk can be remembered for a long time. This is because user can scan the QR code displayed on the kiosk, which allows them to save the information onto their mobile for later viewing.
Map page
Check nearby facilities and information
Users can easily search for nearby facilities from their current location. The service not only the route but also the required time.
Reservation page
Use the time efficiently by planning in advance
Users can make reservations for their desired destination without having to be there. This allows users to set a reservation time so they can do anything else they want until scheduled time.
01 DISCOVER
I asked about the pain point of getting the information at the airport and what it would be like to view information on mobile using the QR code. I conducted interviews with five individuals and received a total of 31 responses through a survey.
Quantitative & Qualititative Research
Pain Points at the airport
There was a lack of information and it was also difficult to remember for a long time. It was especially difficult for transit customers.
Saving information with QR code
Survey
64% said they would use it because it would
be convenient if it was linked.
Interview
75% said they would be able to see the map
while moving, so it would be useful.
Problem of
current airport
Customers often feel that they are lacking information about airport facilities and have difficulty finding information they need. It’s difficult to fine out only what they are looking for.
Although kiosks provide helpful information, coustomers still need to remember the details to achieve their goals.
02 DEFINE
Affinity map
Based on summarized the pain point of research using affinity map. I focused on the most mentioned they said:
- Can’t pick up the information they want.
- Can't predict how long it will take.
- Can't see the information whenever they want.
- Can’t be remembered all information.
Based on the affinity map I focus on the features that belong to Do now. I was able to decide the direction to solve the problem and rest of processes.
Do Now features
If the information found in the kiosk is stored on a mobile, the user can acess the information at any time while arounding airport.
It is possible to estimate how far to current location. And it is also convenient to check whether it is available or not.
Allows reservations for restaurants, cafes and lounges at kiosks. By booking in advance, users can save time and plan other things.

03 DEVELOPE
Through the IA and sketch, i discovered the way to organise the design that would show the features well.
Information Architecture
I designed an effective Information Architecture (IA) through the process of card sorting. I focused on simplifying user steps and minimizing the length of the user journey to ensure that users can easily and quickly discover the information they are looking for.
Card sorting
Final IA
Sketch
I sketched with the final IA. Crazy 8’s comes out with various designs in a short time. The design I did:
- Kiosk: Home / My filght / Map / Reservation
- Mobile: My filght / Map / Saved
04 DELIVER
Considering the visual hierarchy, a high-fi design that can be actually used has been completed.
Simple layout design
The easy-to-use menu structure enables users to easily and quickly find the information. By showing the QR code on the home screen, it informs that they can use their mobile in conjunction with the kiosk.
Easy accessibility
When users scan their flight ticket, they can easily access the necessary flight information. Users can also receive notifications about their flight details on their mobile.
High usability
By allowing users to save their found routes or make reservations for facilities, the usability of the airport is improved, enhancing convenience and efficiency for users.

05 TEST
After the design process, I asked 5 participants to do two tasks through remote usability testing:
- Find the direction to the place they want to go
- Reserve a restaurant at their preferred time
A user is doing a given task with remote testing
Usability Test
Task1 & Task2
Result
All tasks were completed without errors. It takes about 12 sec and 14 sec on average.
Feedback
All completed without errors, but there were elements that could be a bit confusing at task1. And task 2 is no difficulty because the button recognition and method were easy.
System Usability Score
Result
After the test, the targets were surveyed about the project, and the score is 85.6 points.
There was a feedback that the saved tab were indistinguishable, so it was modified once more after usability test. After the revision, I heard opinion that the information was clearly distinguished and it was easy to see.
06 REFLECTION
What I learned from this project
- Different layouts for the large size device
Kiosks have a lot more to consider than other devices. Although having a large screen, it can be challenging to present content in a way that is easily visible and accessible to users. The size of buttons and text must be carefully balanced to ensure ease of use.
Users often struggle to use multiple devices simultaneously. I'll have to think of finding a more convenient way to transfer information between the kiosk and mobile device.
Next Step
I want to design a product that can be applied to more various devices. I want to find out their strengths and weaknesses so that users can use them comfortably and easily.
